Admission to doctoral studies
What are the requirements for applying for a doctoral programme?
- As an applicant, I hold a national master's degree or equivalent (at least at the time of application, see paragraph "How do I enrol in a doctoral programme?").
- I am applying for a doctoral research project supervised by a research director (who is part of a research team at Nantes Université).
- The doctoral research project for which I am applying will fund an employment contract dedicated to my thesis
- or, if the doctoral research project is not funded, I can demonstrate that I have the material and financial resources necessary to complete the thesis.
How can I apply?
- Applications are reviewed by doctoral schools according to their own procedures (available on their websites). Please consult the website of the doctoral school you are interested in.

How do I enrol in a doctoral programme?
Once the doctoral school has accepted my application, I must enrol at the doctoral school and at Nantes Université: See the enrolment procedures for the first year of a doctoral programme.
If I am going to do my doctoral studies under an international joint supervision agreement: I will read the specific rules (in French).
