International lecturers, researchers and staff

Nantes Université has developed numerous partnerships (strategic partnerships, mobility partnerships, etc.) with international institutions. With more than 61,000 students in the Nantes metropolitan area, Nantes is a dynamic and welcoming region.

Welcoming international researchers

Association Chercheurs Étrangers à Nantes (Foreign Researchers in Nantes)

Dedicated to welcoming international researchers (doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, teacher-researchers and visiting researchers) arriving in the Nantes metropolitan area, the association Chercheurs Étrangers à Nantes (certified as a Euraxess service centre) offers tailored support and free services: help with planning your stay, obtaining a visa, finding accommodation, and completing administrative procedures (registering with the CPAM, opening a bank account, information on taxes) for researchers and their families. The association also helps with booking accommodation in the Maison des Chercheurs Étrangers residence.

Located in the heart of Nantes city centre, the association supports international researchers throughout their research stay in Nantes, providing assistance with renewing residence permits and organising intercultural activities to help them integrate into Nantes society during their first months in France (French lessons, evening events, excursions, guided tours, etc.).

Membership of the association is free of charge.
