Nantes Université at the "Français, langue d'avenir" Forum

The event, co-organised by the University of Surrey, the Higher Education, Research and Innovation Department of the French Embassy in the UK, and the Institut français du Royaume-Uni, brings together secondary and higher education professionals, institutional representatives and students to discuss the prospects for the French language in the United Kingdom.

Nantes Université will contribute to a round table dedicated to the future of French studies and the Francophonie. As part of its ongoing partnership with the University of Surrey, the Service universitaire des langues will present its E-tandem programme, an innovative distance-learning initiative that pairs students from Nantes with international counterparts for structured language exchanges in English, Spanish and Japanese.

Grounded in reciprocal learning, the E-tandem programme supports regular language practice, intercultural competence and learner autonomy, complementing traditional teaching provision. Beyond the immediate benefits for students, the scheme also strengthens lasting institutional ties and fosters pedagogical cooperation between universities.

This participation reflects Nantes Université's commitment to internationalisation and to sharing its expertise with academic and institutional partners across Europe.
