The first “3MG Welcome & Meeting Day” was held on December 20^th, 2023 at Halle 6 Ouest of Nantes Université. This event was an opportunity to welcome new PhD students and to discover career opportunities in the public and private sectors for PhD students who will defend their thesis.

Following the presentation of the Graduate School, the 1^st year PhD students participated in a workshop entitled “Succeeding in your thesis”. At the same time, 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th year students took part in sessions dedicated to the pursuit of career in the private sector and in public research with testimonies from young researchers recently recruited by Nantes Université and the CNRS. The morning continued with a meeting of 7 alumni from Nantes labs who are now working in private R&D or in academic sector, in France or internationally.

The discussions continued during the lunch. The day ended with a presentation on thesis defense and a welcome for international PhD students who received advices and some gifts! In total, 85 PhD students and guests were present for this day.
