Closure of activities to the public
All public and private higher education institutions are closed for teaching and learning activities, pursuant to Article 4 of the Order of 14 March 2020 on the different measures taken to combat the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
This applies to initial and continuing education activities, as well as university libraries and restaurants, cafeterias, cafés etc.

The Nantes Université will be closed to the public from 16 March until further notice. In practical terms, this means that all campuses, university libraries, and departments are not accessible to students.
- The University and CROUS social welfare teams are here for you during this lockdown period at social.sumpps@univ-nantes.fr .For students already receiving CROUS support, please email the team at service-social@crous-nantes.fr .
- If you are experiencing unexpected and unpredictable financial difficulties or hardship, the CROUS can provide financial support (one-off or yearly) through:
- specific, one-off payments
- foundations and bequests funds
- Now would be a good time to complete your Student Social File (DSE) for bursary and accommodation applications.
- CROUS Accommodation: from 1 April 2020, students who have left their CROUS university residence, even temporarily, will not pay any accommodation fees until their return. To stop paying accommodation fees, please contact your residence office.
- Emergency food assistance: the Nantes City Council (Ville de Nantes) has compiled a list of community restaurants, foodbanks and distributors of food packages for people experiencing food insecurity. Click here for more information.
- A national helpline for emergency support. This is mainly for urgent assistance. The helpline number is 0 806 000 278, open from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm and the cost of a standard (non-surtaxé), local call. For students facing serious hardship and in need of immediate assistance, our advisors can provide information on the support and aid available, including the arrangements that need to be made with the CROUS.
- The student health services are closed to the public until further notice. However, some services have gone online or can be accessed remotely.
- For medical help only: contact the team by email at urgence.crise.sumpps@univ-nantes.fr - Monday to Friday, between 9am and 5pm: you will be put through to a doctor and/or a doctor will call you back. Outside of these hours, contact your GP/regular doctor, or the medical emergency service SOS Médecins by calling 02 40 50 30 30. As a last resort and only in extremely urgent situations call 15.
- Social Welfare Team: as face-to-face appointments are no longer possible, a telephone service has been set up for students wishing to speak to a member of our team. To make an appointment, email social.sumpps@univ-nantes.fr specifying the telephone number you want to be called back on.
- Psychologist: as face-to-face appointments are no longer possible, a telephone service has been set up for students wishing to speak to a psychologist. To make an appointment, email psycho.sumpps@univ-nantes.fr specifying the telephone number you want to be called back on. For students in La Roche-sur-Yon, email odile.sauvaget@univ-nantes.fr.
- Find all the up-to-date Student Health Services information on the Santé-social (Health-Social Welfare) page. The CROUS social welfare service is available for remote appointments. Get in touch with the team by email at service-social@crous-nantes.fr.
- All CROUS catering services for Nantes Pays de la Loire are closed.

- Bursary payments are guaranteed throughout the entire closure period of the higher education institutions.
- All university libraries are currently closed. However, our online resources are still available and accessible remotely.

All university sports and cultural activities, and more generally events, have been cancelled or deferred.
