A new type of electrode material for energy storage

Double lamellar hydroxides are promising materials for energy storage, combining the advantages of batteries and supercapacitors. Their low resistance to charge/discharge cycles has been multiplied up to a hundredfold. Researchers from the Nantes Jean Rouxel Institute of Materials (IMN) and the Clermont-Ferrand Institute of Chemistry are working with EDF's R&D department to study this promising solution for energy storage.
This research was funded by the National Research Agency (ANR) under the project Flaky hydroxides for innovative storage systems (LaDHy).
