French Language Courses

The Institute of French as a Second Language (i-FLE) offers several long and short term French courses for all proficiency levels :photo

All courses are open to citizens of non-French-speaking countries. The minimum age is 18. For full-time semester courses only, candidates must be holders of the French baccalaureat (A-level) or equivalent. If you do not fulfil these conditions, you must ask the President of the University of Nantes for a special exemption.

French Language Certificates and Tests

i-FLE is an exam center for 2 official French language certification:

  • The DELF and the DALF that are recognized by the French Ministry of Education.
  • The TCF and the DAP-TCF (required for first and second year undergraduate admission) that are recognized by the French Ministry of Education.

DELF B2 preparation course

Our center offers a 6-weeks  preparation course (18 hours) to get ready to take the DELF Diploma.

Certification in other languages

Certification is available in German, English,Chinese, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese. It is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF). The expected level is either intermediate or independent level (B2). Certification is a requirement for some Graduate or Undergraduate studentss.

It is highly valued in terms of international mobility and is an asset to your employability.

Preparing language tests

The Language Learning Center organizes preparatory classes each semester to help you prepare for foreign language exams. The classes are optional. They aim at getting you familiar with the tests' structures.
